How to compare Sand

Criteria that change the selection

• Compare source, gradation, angularity, fines, cleanliness, moisture, color, washed status, and applicable specification.
• Coordinate sand with the binder, paver or pipe system, drainage, compaction, joint width, testing, and installer method.

Terminology and variants

Concrete sand, masonry sand, plaster sand, bedding sand, joint sand, play sand, and silica sand are not interchangeable labels.

When requesting a quote, use the full product name, variant, size or finish, and the unit shown on the record. One informal word can cover materials that behave differently.

Measurement and quantity

Measure the designed layer by area and depth or use the approved mix ratio; account for compaction, moisture, joints, and waste separately.

Keep areas, layers, depths, cuts, compaction, and waste separate. Convert to tons only when verified density exists for the exact product and condition; otherwise keep the volume and ask for help.

Pickup, delivery, and fulfillment

Confirm specification, moisture condition, contamination protection, load weight, covered transport when needed, pile location, and phased delivery or bag counts.

Price, stock, lead time, minimums, loading, unloading, and delivery service are confirmed for the requested quantity, variant, address, and timing.
